Socks are the most requested items for the homeless at shelters and they are the least often donated. Due to this shortage, our city's homeless population is constantly at risk for serious foot disease and damage from the cold.
Socks Addict organized "Get One, Give One" to donate high-quality socks to those in need in the Metro Detroit area, in partnership with Heart 2 Hart Detroit, Wrightsock, Injinji, Fox River and Feetures!
Heart 2 Hart Detroit is unlike any existing organization. They’re like a modern-day cavalry that goes out into the streets every single Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and literally hands out life-sustaining items to hundreds of homeless and needy Detroiters. And they don’t just pass out helpful items and leave. Their team goes even further to provide critical assistance and has connected people to community service organizations, rehab facilities, estranged family members and even potential employers.

On Friday, April 27th, the #SockSquad headed downtown with Heart 2 Hart Detroit to hand out over 40 dozen socks, as well as clothing items and lunches. We started at Hart Plaza, then followed the awesome people of Heart 2 Hart around the city, handing out socks and lunches to anyone living on the street.
We are grateful and humbled to have had the opportunity to serve those in need and we hope to continue to partner with Heart 2 Hart for future donations. Below are some photos from our experience. Thank you all for your generous donations!
