Knee High Compression Socks
Compression socks are typically knee-high in length. They are made up of gradient elastic and other materials that gently squeeze the subcutaneous tissue of the leg and ankle with 15-20 mmHg of pressure or higher for various reasons. This pressure decreases as the garment moves up towards the knee. A sock labeled 15-20 mmHg is 20 mmHg at the ankle and 15 at the calf.
Runners also often wear knee-high compression socks when they’re training to regulate their body temperature, protect their legs, and improve their performance and recovery.
Knee high compression socks are also made for recovery purposes to help your muscles recover faster from your workout by improving blood flow, as well as a precautionary treatment for various health concerns or venous problems such as diabetes, chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), or deep vein thrombosis (DVT or blood clots). Compression garments can also be worn on a day-to-day basis at work or while traveling to relieve tired, achy legs and more.
